
My appreciation for games tends to lean not toward the games that accomplish more, but rather how well they accomplish the things they do. Lesser, as in the Bloodlines minotaurs are less sexy than the one in Rondo. It’s a great game, and to be fair, Castlevania: Bloodlines has those things, just in lesser amounts.

It provided things like branching paths, multiple characters, and a load of secrets to uncover. History shows that Rondo of Blood would have the most influence on the series’ future.

When you look this good, you don’t have to know anythingįor some perspective, Castlevania: Bloodlines was released in 1994, the year following Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and three years after Super Castlevania IV.
